California Notary Services Maximum California notary fees are governed by the Secretary of State. Individual notaries may also charge additional fees to cover travel, parking, the printing of documents, wait time, and other job-related expenses. Standard Notary Fees $15 Acknowledgment (per signature) $15 Jurat (per signature) Assembly Bill No. 2217 As of January 1, 2017, California maximum allowable notary fees were raised to $15 per acknowledgment or jurat. Mobile Service Fee $45 – Covers up to 25 miles round trip $1 per mile – Applies to trips that exceed 25 miles If, for any reason, we travel to your location and the Notarization can't take place due to no fault of ours, you are still responsible for the mobile service fee. Witness Fee $25 – Witness will accompany the notary to the appointment Wait Time $15 per 15 minutes is charged if an appointment begins more than 15 minutes after the start time. Returned Check Fee $45 – This covers our bank’s ISF (insufficient funds) fee * If there are more than 1 notarization, a $15/per additional notarization fee will be added
